Hello, and thank you for your interest in HOOT! HOOT is a “magazine” (in that there are monthly issues), but it is on a postcard!

Writers from all over the world submit their fiction, poetry, and nonfiction to us. Every month, we select one of these pieces for our issue. Then, we design a visual element to accompany the writing. Our authors range from first-time writers (many of them our subscribers!) to experienced, published novelists. Occasionally, we accept submissions from artists as well.

The idea is that current, quality literature should be accessible to everyone–something you can participate in and share! Our postcards are short (<150 words), and small enough to be hung as art on fridges or passed to friends.  We also try to hide HOOT‘s around cities in creative ways (think “guerilla literature”), and run free writing workshops (online and in person).
